New Hair + Lush's R&B Hair Moisturiser

23 March 2016

If you're a follower of my instagram, (you should be!) then you would have seen that this month I changed my hair up again. I went shorter and I also went blonder on the ends. Something I have wanted to do for ages.

I also got my fringe cut shorter again, I love my blunt baby bangs. My new hair meant the ends had been bleached quite a bit, so they're a bit dryer and brittle than I would have liked so I need to get something really moisturising and good to put in my hair after I would shower.

Enter Lush's R&B Hair Moisturiser. I've only used a small amount of Lush products so far, and have been impressed by them in the past, so when I was out looking for something to reinvigorate my hair I thought I would stop by Lush first and see if they had anything good.

I went to Lush at Charlestown Square, which is out the front of the Food Court & Cinema. I'm not sure why we have zero Lush stores around here that are actual stores. They're all in the form of those awful tiny pop up like stores. Awkward and pretty small, so less stock.

The girl from Lush was super lovely, as per usual, and once I told her what I was after to restore moisture to my hair she handed me this straight away.

To use R&B (which stands for Revive & Balance), you first shampoo and condition your hair. Then while your hair is still wet, get a very small blob, no larger than a 10c coin size, rub your hands together and then massage it into your hair. Focusing on the driest areas of course.

The moisturiser has a very strong smell, is pleasant but can be a bit overpowering immediately after it's in your hair. The scent will settle down though as your hair dries, so not too much of an issue.

The tropical butters and candelilla wax help to moisturise and control frizzy, flyaway hair, but R&B can also work to soothe dry scalps, too, with calming oat milk. Which I will have to tell Josh about as his scalp can get quite dry. One of the best things too is how little you need to use at a time. It's the same, even if you have longer hair than me.

I find it's a lot easier to comb out my wet hair after I've moisturised it, and once my hair is fully dry and I give it a brush, my hair feels lovely.

Anyway here is picture of my new hair. I'm really loving the length honestly. I might keep it short for a while. I get my hair cut and coloured by the beautiful Chantelle at The Hair & Beauty Project. Which is an amazing hair and beauty salon in Wickham, behind a groovy coffee shop, Dark Horse Espresso.

10/10 do recommend. Chantelle is amazing as somehow discovering what I'm trying to get across, and giving me perfect hair every time. Not to mention Penny Coakes, who does a fab job at eyebrows. So she's now and forever my go to brow girl!

Have you ever tried a hair treatment from Lush? Which one and how did you like it?
