Aloha Hawaii

20 February 2017 Waikīkī, HI 96815, USA

From the 15th to the 24th of January this year I was in Hawaii! Which you would have seen if you've been following me on instagram. We flew straight from Sydney to Honolulu where we would spend our first two days, before hopping over to Maui for four days, and then back to Honolulu for the final two before flying home!

I'd never been to Hawaii before and it was interesting going on a kind of tropical island holiday where English is the main language, as Hawaii is a US state. I was really keen to do a bit of an explore around the islands, but mostly to just veg out by the beach or pool and get a tan

We were lucky enough to get upgraded to Business Class on our flight there as well, which was super nice and something I've never done before. It was great to have it on the flight there as it was overnight so we arrived reasonably well rested.

Scandinavian Style with Icon By Design

5 February 2017

The Scandinavian trend is one that has come onto the scene in recent years and is yet to leave, which I am eternally grateful for, as this unique style is visible in many aspects of my own home. The pieces effortlessly strike a balance between simple and remarkable, standing out as statement pieces yet working alongside other items seamlessly.

Scandinavian influence is present in so very many modern homes nowadays. Almost all newly renovated homes that I have explored during my time spent house hunting have been furnished in Scandi décor. If they weren't, they were behind the times and it became clear to me that it was a style choice that affected people's first impressions of homes.

Me? I'm keen to add more of this style into my home as we renovate and refurnish all different areas.

Here are five of my favourite basic Scandinavian style pieces from Icon by Design, a beautiful Australian furniture store who have only very recently opened a flagship store in Sydney!
