How to Refresh Your Home!

27 March 2019

Changing up your home is an exciting time, and you need to have some sort of plan in place to ensure that this doesn’t go completely wrong!

It can feel like a daunting challenge to get everything done and make your home feel brand new, but you are going to get there in the end! In this article, we are going to be discussing some of the ways that you can go out with the old and in with the new when it comes to your home design! Keep reading to find out more!

Get Rid Of It All!

We know that this sounds quite drastic, and we don’t literally mean everything you own, but a lot of stuff needs to go. It is not possible to create an entirely new home design if the old one is hanging over your head. If it isn’t bringing you happiness, or it is not complimenting the new design then you need to say goodbye. Make sure that you order a skip bin that is big enough to contain all of your rubbish to avoid numerous trips to the tip! This is the easiest way to get everything out of your home, ready for the new stuff to arrive.

Sometimes it can be hard to say goodbye to the things that we have had in our home for a long time. But, if you want to do something new, this is going to be necessary for the progress. Go through everything carefully and decide what you are keeping, as well as what you are not. Don’t throw out anything that has sentimental value, or that you are going to be sad without because this is going to ruin the entire vibe of the new design!

Paint It A New Colour

You might be surprised at just how much can be achieved with a new colour on the walls. Whether this is a white, magnolia or a brighter colour that you have chosen, it is going to look wonderful. You should choose this colour accordingly with the new theme of the room, and take into consideration new furniture and other items. This can be quite a challenge, and for this reason, it might be a good idea to wait until you have purchased all the new items before you paint the walls, but this doesn’t stop you from picking out colour samples.

Get your family or friends opinion if you find yourself spoilt for choice, as this can do wonders. Bringing in a fresh perspective is always going to be useful, but try to ensure that it is something different from what you have previously had.

A Whole New Room

Finally, if your budget allows it, you should pick one room in the house and completely redo it. No simple swaps, no half measures, a completely new room for you and your family to enjoy. Whether you want to choose the kitchen, bathroom, living room or whatever, just choose one and stick with it. Plan out everything that you want to be changed, and budget out how much you have to spend. This is going to be a fun project for you, but it will also give your home a completely new feel which is likely what you are looking for.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and will use this advice to get rid of the old, and welcome the new to your home.
