Strategies that will Help you to Work Out When You’re Feeling Lazy

23 October 2021

If training is a part of your lifestyle, then you may find it easy to drag yourself to the gym when you just don’t feel like it. If you find that you are making excuses though, then now is the time for you to make a change.

It’s Day One

If you want to start doing something, then today is the day for you to start doing it. Treat today, as if it’s day one of a new routine. You don’t have to start on an elaborate training regime, you just need to take that first step. Drink some water, eat smaller portions and even go on a short walk. You can do whatever you want, as long as you start today. If you are able to see today as being a fresh start, then this will help you to reset yourself and your motivation.

Plan your Day

Chances are, you will be more likely to get your workout done if you do it first thing in the morning. If you can get in the habit of getting up early and then immediately exercising, then this will work wonders for your mental health. You may find that you get a good start to the day and that whatever happens, you know you’ve done your workout. This is ideal if you feel as though working late is continually impacting your workout routine.

Build a Goal

You have to try and make a habit of building a goal if you can. Don’t try and focus on your weight, or your fitness performance. Focus on building great habits. Even if you start by getting out of bed at the same time every day, or going on a walk, you will be helping yourself. Building good habits is critical to your long-term success and when you have built some degree of consistency, you will soon find that you can reach any goals that may be on the horizon.

Beware of the Third and Fourth Week

Statistically speaking, weeks three and four are when most people fail. If you can get past this stage, then you will be giving yourself a huge boost. If you want to help yourself then try and plan something new to spice up your training regime. This will help you to break up the monotony that comes with doing the same thing every single day. If you are a woman and struggle working out when that time of the month hits, then remember, you can buy comfortable, reusable cotton pads online.

Pace Yourself

When things start to become a habit, it’s very easy for you to stay motivated. Start the habit of training every other day if you can, for the first few weeks. You can then add something easy into your routine, such as walking in between your gym sessions. You can then try and tweak your diet on certain days. Either way, you need to make sure that you do what you can to help yourself. If you don’t, you may find that your motivation wanes.
