Australia

My Winter Bucket List

June 1st signaled the beginning of Winter here in Australia. Which I count as a pretty crappy season in down here as it still gets pretty darn cold but nowhere near cold enough to snow. So I have to deal with all the cold without any of the fun stuff.

Not to mention how we are all conditioned to put Winter with Christmas, even though I don't live in the Northern hemisphere, everything Christmas themed here still has snow on it. Unless it's the complete opposite and Santa's sleigh is being pulled by Kangaroos. Nevermind!

We do have snow but it's quite a few hours drive away from me, and I won't be heading there this Winter. So what to put on an Aussie Winter Bucket list?

Here's a few cold weather activities I hope to get up to in the new few icy months.

Alright! I'm sure I can get through quite a few, if not all of these this winter!
If it's getting cold where you live, what is on your bucket list this Winter? If not, what's one of your favourite Winter activities when it is cold?

  1. I'm loving your list especially building a blanket fort and having a movie marathon inside it! I have to say getting dressed up warm and going for a walk on a sunny winters day is beautiful and of course snuggling in and watching movies is also one of my favourites.

  2. Hahaa, everyone's talking about summer while it's just winter in Australia! Hahaha, it's just very amusing to me. It's summer over here but I'd do anything to have some hot chocolate with marshmallows now <3

  8. Haha, I always forget how weird it must be for you to have to have the snowy Xmas stuff when you're more likely to be on the beach! Loving your list, I particularly love making a blanket fort, I'm planning on doing that tonight actually (our summer sucks right now)

  12. I think this is a really cute list! It's pretty generic, but it's not something that a lot of people get to do at the same time. I want some hot chocolate right now - I'm in the northern hemisphere but it barely feels like summer here!

  13. I got so confused since it's Summer here but then I realised you're in Australia! It's so bizarre how everything is "upside down".

Those are some nice things to do on your bucket list! I want to know how to make marshmellows! Would be nice to sit and toast them around a campfire too :D

  14. Ahh, I've always wanted to experience winter. I live in an equatorial country so it's summer year round *sigh* I completely agree with being wrapped up in blanket and reading a good book. Also, blanket forts, YES.

  40. Hi Tegan :) I just wanted to thank you for the blog header! :) I really liked it <3 I feel your pain!! Currently it is summer here but winter it's not that much of a difference. It gets cold but we don't get snow either!! unless you live up in the mountains :( Luckily the winters aren't horrible so we can still be out and about every day but I usually just tend to stay in and watch Netflix or Youtube.
