7 Ways to Get Back to Feeling Yourself

9 January 2020

You know that feeling when you don’t have your usual positive outlook on life? The moment you start to feel less than amazing is the moment you need to take action.

Everybody has their down days, so you shouldn’t feel the need to be completely perfect, however, you deserve to feel your best. Whether you’re getting into a good morning routine, or you want to up your exercise game, there are so many ways in which you can feel beautiful again. Check out the following seven savvy ways to feel yourself again and you will soon be back on track.

1.Improve Your Diet

Feeling slow, sluggish and heavy is very common, especially just after the festive period. If you haven’t already started, now is the perfect time to improve your diet. If you’re hoping to enhance your home cooking, you should definitely look into air fryers

You can make delicious fried comfort foods without the calorific label. Healthy food doesn’t have to be boring, so think about the ways you can add delicious nutrients to your diet. I've been cooking a lot of broccoli in my air fryer lately and it's delicious.

2. Increase Your Daily Exercise

Moving your body and getting outside is one of the best endorphin boosters out there. Increasing your daily exercise can sometimes be hard to manage, but try to incorporate a little bit every day.

Whether you leave the car at home and walk to work or get off the bus one stop earlier, there are so many ways to increase your daily exercise. Get your heart racing in the best way possible and feel yourself come alive!

3. Practice Meditation and Mindfulness

Feeling great mentally is a huge challenge that we face in our day to day lives. Practising a small amount of meditation and mindfulness every single day can really help you to overcome your slump.

There are plenty of apps out there that can guide you through the process if you aren’t sure where to start.

4. Change Up Your Skincare Regime

Embracing a new skincare routine is one of the simplest ways to feel like a new you. I love the Skintstitut range that is available at Laser Clinics Kotara. Indulge in a new cleanser, moisturiser and serum and your skin will thank you for it.

5. Find Yourself a New Hobby or Activity!

If you find yourself twiddling your thumbs and getting bored during time that is meant to be for relaxing, then you should try and find yourself a new hobby! There are so many things that can help keep you busy, and get back to feeling like a new person again! You could start jogging, learn to knit, start listening to audiobooks! The opportunities are practically endless if you're willing to have a look.

6. Get a New Hairstyle

There are so many new hair trends emerging in 2020, such as the “shag haircut.” Go to your usual hairdresser and ask them what they think will suit you for the new year.
If something like this is way out of your comfort zone, don't go too drastic too fast. Find some inspiration online and make sure you take a picture to the hairdressers with you for reference.

7. Find More Time for Yourself

In this busy world, it is so rare to have a moment to yourself. Even if you can simply schedule half an hour of ‘you time’ every day, you will start to feel so much better.

You don’t have to do anything expensive or fancy during this special time; you simply need to find a self-care activity that you absolutely LOVE. Whether you’re reading your favourite book or taking a bubble bath, you can refresh and recuperate your mind in a short amount of time.

Make an appointment with yourself every day and make sure you never cancel!

So if you have lost your motivation and are feeling down, now is the time to make a change. Do something about it and try to find the positivity in your life again. Whether you’re rethinking your eating habits or upping your exercise regime, there are so many ways to feel back on track.
