My Goals for 2016

2015 has been a huge year for me! A lot has happened and it's not reflected in my resolutions, but I'll talk about them in an upcoming Anti-Bucket List post. Wait and see!

I'm a firm believer in setting only a handful of yearly goals, making sure they are reasonably specific and not too unreachable. Being a blogger is an excellent way to know that I have my resolutions written down and in an easy to find place.

So let's see how I did this year.

My 2015 Resolution Results

1. Come Back with the USA with Money - YEP
I spent a hell of a lot of cash over there, but I'm proud to say not all of my savings went. So this one is a success.

2. Book a Holiday for 2016 - DONE
Yesiree! Josh and I have a cruise booked in for February 9th 2016! Stay tuned for more info on that front.

3. Save $5000 - YES

I did definitely save more than this overall, but digging in for birthdays and Christmas and booking our holiday, dropped this down below $5000. My goal was mostly to still be able to save money now that I've moved out. Which I'll call a success.

4. Buy a Bike/Ride More Places - Half done...
While I did buy myself a bike, I didn't account for how nervous bike riding on the road makes me. I need to definitely give this more of a go so that I become more confident riding places.

5. Continue Blogging - Hmm?
I'm here aren't I? I'm so glad that I've stuck this out! Blogging has become an integral part of my life and routine. My main hobby, it's been a good year with blogging, so I'm keen for it to continue.
I added that I wanted to reach 1000 Bloglovin and Instagram followers. I'm almost at 500 on bloglovin, so still a fair way to go, but I'm at about 2,130 Instagram followers! Another mini goal of mine was to focus on my photography and use more of my own images which I've been doing lately as well.

Hello 2016

Life!

1. Keep My Plants Alive
I've amassed quite a selection of indoor and outdoor plants this past year, and now I need to focus on them staying green and lush. As well as hopefully gaining a bit more knowledge on my precious plants as well.

2. Read 12 Books
That might seem like a laughably low number, but I have been dreadful with reading of late. It's a pastime I honestly enjoy, but one I often pass up for the simpler, watching of my favourite tv series. This 2016 reading challenge seems like the perfect fit for what I'm after.

3. Get Outdoors More!
I tend to look back once Summer is over and wonder why didn't I go to the beach more? I'm realising now it's because I work all the dang time. But on nice days, especially with daylight savings in full swing, there's usually an opportunity for me to go to the beach after work. So I should go!

4. Live a Bit More than I Work
Working two jobs means that when I would have a day off from one job I'd be at the other job and vice versa. There's a limit on how many days in a row you can work at one job, this doesn't apply when you have two! I've missed out on a lot of things because I'm working. I'm still only young, I have the rest of my life to have no free time.

5. Finish All the Playstation Games I Own, Before Buying More
Ha I've gotta say that this is a pretty lame goal, and I was having some trouble thinking of a 5th one. But this will help with saving money as well so yay! I have a lot of good games, but I never finish them I just move onto the next best thing. At current I'm finishing Assassin's Creed Unity, then I'll go back to The Witcher.

Blogging!

1. Write More About Cool Spots in my City
I live in Newcastle, it's a coastal town, two hours North of Sydney. I'm actually a big fan of it and there's so many cool places around here to visit. I want to start visiting more of them, it is my hometown after all, and sharing all these sweet places with everyone!

2. Get Blog Business Cards
The more I photograph at different places and businesses. The more I wish I had a pro looking business card to hand to people to say, Hey I'm not just a creep with a camera. I'm a creep with a camera and a blog! Jokes aside, if I'm going to stick at blogging, this is a next step.

3. Reach 1000 Bloglovin' Followers or 500 Likes on Facebook
I know that I have a lot of readers who aren't represented from the number on bloglovin'. They come from a whole variety of different areas. I get a lot of my hits from Facebook for example.

4. Become More Well Known as a Local Blogger
This is a bit tougher because there's not many bloggers in the exact boat as me that are in my town. You tend to bond over similar topics, like beauty bloggers or mummy bloggers. Blogging more and more about cool spots in the city, will hopefully help contribute to this.

5. Increase My Readership & View Count
I was making progress with this until the great domain debacle. It basically put me back to square one, things only started to slightly improve when I got my domain back. For 2015 I received about 55,000 pageviews. I would love to look back on 2016 and see that I've doubled my views for the year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Let me know in the comments if you have any blogging goals for the new year, or regular goals really!
