A Visit to The Novotel Newcastle Beach

2 January 2019 5 King St, Newcastle NSW 2300, Australia

I was lucky enough to get to spend my Birthday Eve staying at the Novotel Newcastle Beach this year. It was definitely the perfect way to start the next year of my life. Even though we missed our little Coco, she was only down the road at our house.

The Novotel in Newcastle is situated in such a great spot, surrounded by beaches and restaurants in the East End of Newcastle. On arrival, we parked right out front in the free 15-minute parking zone and went in to chat at the reception. The lobby is a very open and inviting space, the timber features and plants give it a very beachy feel. Which works perfectly alongside our coastal Newcastle.

The Novotel Newcastle has it's own private carpark beneath the building, and once you have checked in at reception you will receive your room pass as well as what you need to get in and out of the carpark. Residents also live in the building (what a great spot!) so you have to make sure you park in the correctly allocated areas, but it's easy to find and not confusing at all.

After parking our car, we were able to catch the lift right from below the building up and into the floor that our room was on.

The loveliest birthday treat awaited me as I entered our room, a bunch of flowers, fresh fruit and wine! Little things like this definitely made my stay even more special.

Our room was spacious and included all the regular amenities, including a fully stocked mini bar. This we stayed away from as we had a picnic later in the day and didn't want to fill up snacks too early, but the fresh fruit and wine were delicious!

While the view out our window wasn't of the beach closest to us, we were still able to see the city and the foreshore (more towards Nobby's Beach). I'm more of a city view kinda girl anyway.

The Novotel had big white robes and slippers which I adored and it made me want to go out and buy one for my own home. There's something a bit luxurious about staying in a hotel and wearing white robes. It really reminds you that you're on holidays. The shower was giant and had great water pressure.

Even though we were only staying one night, I hate staying places where the shower water strength is so poor you feel as though you wouldn't be able to wash your hair. It's the little things like this that really make a difference.

On my birthday morning, Josh and I had two big veggie breakfasts delivered to our room alongside fresh juice! Poached eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, greens on sourdough! It was even better than it looks in the photo and having it delivered as room service was such a fun way to start off my birthday treats!

I couldn't help taking a cheeky breakfast in bed shot, but I definitely ate my food at a table! I'm way too clumsy for balsamic and white linen.

Checking out was a breeze, in fact, everything about our brief stay at the Novotel was easy and stress-free. Which is exactly how you should feel when you go on vacation anywhere. All of the staff were wonderful and attentive and helped us swiftly whenever we had an enquiry.

Thank you so much for having us Novotel Newcastle Beach. My time here exceeded my expectations and I would definitely stay with the Novotel again when travelling.
