Life Lately 8/11 + Sydney Trip

8 November 2015

Hooray! Last week was both Josh and my birthday weeks, and as we were both super excited. We took some annual leave from our jobs and went on a mini vacation to Sydney! Warning this post is filled with waay too many photos of outfits I wore over the past two weeks, all thrown at you at once.

I'm keen to show you all a bunch of things that I got on my Sydney trip but not yet! That will be a separate post. For now I'm just super keen to get back into the swing of blogging after neglecting it, partly due to being disheartened about my domain name and partly because I have been playing Assassin's Creed Syndicates! It's great btw!

I worked a lot leading up to my week off, as well as managing to fit in a few events, like Josh's Nan's 90th! I also had a christening for my cousin Haylie's two beautiful twin girls. (Christening outfit in middle) and my good friend Chezarne's 21st! It was a busy weekend. The outfits on either side of  the photo above are things I wore to work. I love not having a uniform!

The day before my birthday I worked at my clothing store job, and I got delivered an awesome Peace Lily as a present from my sister! Who lives on the other side of the country! Thanks so much Kayla! I was ecstatic if you can't tell from this photo.

I had dinner with my mum that night as I was going away on my birthday. Went went to the Parry Street Garage and had the pumpkin pizza and it was soo delicious! Highly recommend. Followed by some fresh strawberry sorbet. A quality birthday meal.

On my actual birthday, it rained, of course. Josh and I woke up and walked to a nearby cafe, Welsh Blacks. Where I was planning on bagels and coffee but they had vegemite and cheese scrolls instead, which ended up being better in my opinion. Birthday dreams come true.

We travelled to the Macquarie Centre in Sydney, this giant and reasonably new mall that I had been dying to go to. As it has a lot of stores that are very popular and common in other parts of the world but not in Australia. Such as Sephora, Mecca Maxima, Zara, H&M and Forever 21.

I went crazy but not completely insane. Over the trip I bought a lot of basics, in both black and white. Gotta love them basics.

After shopping til we dropped. We checked into our room at Vibe Hotel Sydney. Which has terrible wifi but a good room, price and great location. Dinner was sushi and for evening entertainment we went and watched the film Sicario at the George Street Cinemas. A really great film, with amazing cinematography. But it's super intense, and I was a tad stressed out just watching it.

Here are some of the outfits that I wore on my trip to Sydney. I had to wear a jacket the whole time because the weather was generally crap, which was annoying, but oh well. My Dr Marten boots were essentials for stomping through the rain puddles in the city.

On the Thursday I planned to go to the Sydney Botanical Gardens but it was very windy and rainy so we detoured and visited the Australian Museum instead. Which was lots of fun, there were lots of animal specimens to look at, as well as an entire section on Dinosaurs! Which is what I'm all about.

It was a really great week. I had such a good time hanging out with Joshua more than usual. It gets hard to see each other often, even though we live together, because we both work a lot and on different schedules. But we make it work.

We bought a lot of goodies and did lots of fun things on our trip. I do wish it hadn't rained so much but what can you do. We didn't let it spoil our fun.

This entire post is mostly just photos of me. Because I wasn't feeling very bloggery when I was away, and didn't take photos of anything that wasn't a selfie apparently.

I'm back, and ready to give this blog 100%! There will definitely be a post on stuff that I bought during my trip. So look out!

Cya! xx
