New Hanging Pendants...

1 December 2014

Okay so we haven't moved into our new place yet. The lovely townhouse in the city of Newcastle. So the current owners, aka Josh's parents are still adding things to it. Good stuff like a deck for out in the courtyard and a new clothesline etc. Other things like these two pendants.

Like I mentioned in this article, it's still their house. Which means we have literally no say in what goes in as a permanent fixture or part of the house. Which I do understand of course, there does have to be cons after all and we are still renting.

But in my personal and honest opinion. What. the. heck. I meaaan.. ??

Springfield Pendant - Domayne
The Springfield pendant in it's own right is cool and industrial. All around rustic. Alongside it's bright orange hanging cord... It just doesn't match anything in the house at all. (except maybe future furniture)

All polite comments by me, regarding the colour choice were dismissed with responses that it will look great with our couch and that basically I don't have a choice.

Guess I'll have to learn to love 'em. Let me know what you think in the comments! x

  1. I actually really like them - I can see what you mean about how they may not fit in with the current decor.! Though, I think you could really make them work espesh with your new sofa ... which may I add is gorg x Best of luck with all your house(y) stuff !. I sure it will all work out great in the end x :)

    1. Thanks! I think that they will grow on me once I live there, and I'm sure they'll work with all the decor aha. Hopefully! x

  2. I am not a design expert but I am sure it must be a way to 'mix and match''!and if u wont get used to them,u can buy new ones, don't you?

    1. Ahah, hopefully they will match with my fabulous couch. And nope i'm not allowed to replace them, they belong and were installed by my landlords aka my boyfriends parents lol. x

  3. So your right... they don't exactly match the house that well... but, they do match the sofa.
You can definitely build a room (or living/kitchen) around a sofa and light.

Btw, looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.

Thanks so much for commenting everyone! I read and appreciate every single one of your comments! xx
