2017 - Resolutions Results

28 December 2017

Let me just start off by saying, 2017 was a bit crazy but overall really great. I had a good time and I'm looking forward to whatever 2018 wants to throw my way.

I did pretty poorly with this year's resolutions but I sort of have an excuse. I started off the year after having quit one of my two jobs. I was looking at 2017 as a time I would be working 3 days a week in a casual position at my current job. But I was actually given a full time position in May. Which threw some of my resolutions off as I thought I would have more time.

Anyway, have a read. See how I went and read whatever my excuses are for why I didn't do what I wanted to.

- Manage a Sleeping Routine & Wake Up Earlier - FAIL

Honestly I still really struggle with this. I definitely don't have a routine and I need to. Some of this is because I have some gym classes some days where I get up at 5.30am, but they're not all the time. So I'm constantly waking up and going to bed at different times. So it's a work in progress.

- Continue working on my Fitness - EH KINDA

I definitely haven't given up. This year I joined the gym, and I'm still going once or twice a week. Which I definitely would like to increase, and this will be present in my 2018 resolutions. So stay tuned.

- Make more of an Effort - NAH

Honestly with this one I decided I'd just rather not. The make more of an effort was related to going to social outings and being antisocial. My fix for this was only going to social events where I know I'm going to be social. If I really don't want to go, I just don't go. Problem solved. I'm an Ambivert. So while I'm outgoing in certain situations, I have a low tolerance for social interactions and prefer to hang out alone.

- Stop Eating Meat - NAILED IT!

Meat Free baby! I didn't even notice the year go by. Switching to vegetarian was easy as for me. I hardly ate meat to start with, just a few chicken nuggs here and there. But I haven't even looked back! Plus vegan nuggets are like really good!

- Actually Continue Blogging - SORRY NO

I wanted to set aside one day a week for blogging. I wanted to really focus on my social media this year. But that was before I started my first full time job. I still love to blog and I really do want to make more time for it. I just don't want it to feel like a chore.

- Finish my Couch to 5k App / Keep Running / Enter a Fun Run - LOLOL

Okay so I have a weird excuse for this one. I was actually going well with this and then I joined the gym. Then I started going to weights classes, and then I completely gave up running all together. Stopped. 100%. I'm not really sure why, but now I have some muscles and zero endurance so.

There you have it. I think it's funny how much things can change after you set goals for yourself. I probably need to alter and update them halfway through the year.

Anyway there will be a new set of goals headed your way shortly. Just in time for 2018!

Cya soon!

  3. That's great about going vegetarian! I think even 10 years ago it would have been harder to make the switch but now there are so many meat alternatives on the market that taste pretty close to the real thing, I find it funny that anyone would still even wonder, "what do you eat?" It really doesn't limit your choices much at all unless you go to a restaurant that doesn't cater for it, but it's 2017 and they need to catch up!

  4. Even though you might not have accomplished everything you set yourself you should still be incredibly proud of what you have done throughout the year, and for all the effort you put in! Best of luck for 2018! Xx
