Bring Instant Luxury to Your Bathroom

17 January 2020

The bathroom is the one room in the house that reveals who you really are. This is because people tend to fall into 1 of 3 categories: those who are making do, those who don’t care and those who want to make the most of every square centimetre of their home.

If you don’t care, your bathroom is probably a bit of a mess with products all over the place and no real sense of design. If you are making the most, your fittings might not be perfect but you have at least tidied up your cupboards and figured out some sort of organisation system. If you want to make the most of every square centimetre, you have probably thought about the overall design of your bathroom and plumbing.

Getting The Right Plumbing

You don’t have to spend a fortune on your furniture and fittings if you have a good plumber. The key to the design is always to create a coherent look that is fitted well. Getting the right plumber gas fitter and tiler is essential - but do consider that this could mean hiring a couple of different contractors. The tiles themselves might not be anything special but adding the right colour of grouting could make them look amazing.

Nothing stands out more in a bathroom than a botched job. If you do have a problem with your plumbing, such as a leak, making sure that you have the right materials to fix the problem is essential. This is why when you do tile your bathroom, it is always worth holding a few spare tiles back for the future.

Keep It Clean

Whether you choose to add accessories to your bathroom or not is entirely dependent on your sense of style. However, do be aware that the more accessories you have, the harder it will be to clean. Lots of people tend to leave their bathroom unadorned as a simple cleaning trick.

A perfect all-white bathroom is amazing if you can keep it clean. But if you don’t want to get the steam cleaner out every week, you could go for a darker colour that won’t be quite so revealing. The shower curtain is often a clue to how clean your bathroom is but they are also very easy to clean using a simple solution of vinegar or baking soda. You should also focus some attention on your taps - using dental floss is a good way to reach into seams and get rid of the gunk.

You Need Plants!

Every bathroom should have a plant or two and there are plenty of species that will be quite happy living in a steamy environment. The only thing you need to remember is to add water! Plants are ideal in the bathroom because they can improve the air quality in this small room and bring a sense of natural luxe.

Instant luxury doesn’t require a lot of expensive fittings, it just needs a bit of care and attention. Take the time to get the smallest details right and you will see a massive difference.
