Bath Brew Review

4 March 2016

I got this awesome treat from my good friend Tilly as one my birthday gifts last November. I hadn't used it yet partly because my bathtub was dusty, and also it's usually quite hot upstairs where the bath is. Not really the temperature that makes you want to have take a hot bath.

Bath Brew, a giant tea bag for the bath! I was very excited when I unwrapped this to probably no one's surprise. Tilly picked out the Chai Bath version which is perfect because I love Chai! The taste, the smell, it's a great flavour.

Yaaas. It indeed comes in the form of a giant teabag. A giant teabag that you get to dunk and throw into your bathtub. Then proceed to soak yourself in. As soon as you open the box, before even removing the teabag from it's plastic packaging you can smell the chai and it's amazing.

The Chai bath brew has an essential oil blend of Sweet Orange, clove leaf, fennel, cinnamon, cardamom and black pepper. So chai ingredients basically. Then a bunch of other goodies to really give you a blissful bath experience. Australian White Clay, Witch Hazel Leaves, Rosehip, Goats Milk Powder, Cinnamon Chips and Epsom Salt.

Not to mention #ShopLocal ! This beauty is all Australian made in Sydney!

This photo doesn't do the cute teabag justice. But it kept spinning around!
I ran myself a hot bath and then started dunking away my teabag. Then I just threw it all in there and climbed in the tub. The little tag is made of cardboard but even after a good tub soaking it didn't get mushy or fall apart.

The box instructions state to dunk and jiggle your teabag about in the bath, and then for maximum benefit, squeeze the bag tightly to release all the of the ingredients.

The bath smelled really good, like a good chai tea, but I'll admit that after a while the smell became less noticeable. Probably as I was becoming desensitised to it. But if I smelled my skin I could definitely still smell the chai.

The bath went a murky grey colour. So don't go buying this if you want the rainbow experience that you get with a Lush Bathbomb. I've never had a multicolour cup of tea either. Well I have had lavender tea but that's beyond the point.

Want your own Bath Brew? You can get it online here at Page Thirty Three. Or for my local Newcastle babes, you can grab some from the cute bookstore Harry Hartog, downstairs at Westfield Kotara.

Cya! xx

  1. These look adorable! Chai is also one of my favourite smells! I recently brought a candle that smells like it haha. If only I had a bath I'd try these out :)

  6. This is so adorably cute. I feel like Valfré should make a drawing of a girl in a tea cup in honour of this.
