Attempting to be a Full Time Blogger

9 April 2019

If you have been thinking about becoming a full-time blogger, I've got bad news for you. The marketplace is crowded, and it is becoming harder every day to make it in the world of online marketing and earn a full time living doing what you enjoy.

However, if you can create a plan that suits your lifestyle and our audience, and find a way to stand out, using social media marketing, you might be able to get a leg up in this competitive game.

I am not there yet, don't get me wrong it's not an easy path. I still work 4 days a week in a store and then blog only part-time. So here are some tips to help get you on your way.

Find Your Niche

The first thing you will have to do is your research, this will help you find your niche. You might be confused about what to write about and which market to target. The things to consider before you start is the number of people in the niche and your existing knowledge. If you can establish yourself in the market as an expert, you are likely to have a chance to attract readers and followers on social media.

After all, you will need to find the right balance between personal and professional content.
I write about literally anything, so my niche is very broad which makes it harder to attract a specific audience.

Block Schedule

To make the most out of your blogging lifestyle, you will have to maximize your productivity and make the most out of your time spent on the business, so you can visit the closest beach and spend time doing things that make you happy and help you recharge your batteries.

Working from home can be really hard as it can be difficult to switch off and stop working.

Thanks to the latest developments in internet marketing, you will find plenty of companies offering affordable social media packages for small business owners that will help you track and measure the engagement on your posts.

Find The Perfect Place to Work From

If your main reason for living where you are living is that you are tied to a 9-5 job, it might be time to set yourself some personal and professional goals.

You should create a dream board that you can display by your desk to help you can find your true calling and your ideal way of achieving your goals.

If you would like to relocate, you will need to start researching property prices and check out hdb toa payoh resale properties, so you know exactly how much money you need to make your dreams come true.

Create a Residual Income

One of the reasons why people give up their dream of becoming a full-time blogger is the lack of financial security this career provides for them. I myself am constantly chasing up invoices that haven't been paid. Which isn't great when you're trying to cover your bills and expenses.

You can overcome this challenge by creating a residual income stream, such as selling ad space on your blog, offering sponsored posts or enrolling in an affiliate program. You could also think about joining a CPA network, so you can get paid for your blogging by other companies.

Look Out for New Ways to Monetize Your Blog

Once you have found the main stream of residual income, it might be time to increase your earnings, by adding more value and upselling your offers. There are plenty of ways you can earn an extra income. If you have a busy and popular Instagram account, for example, you could sell your shoutouts to business owners who have offers that might be relevant to your audience’s interest.

Create Automated Marketing Solutions

If you are not ready to give up your day job and become a blogger full time yet, chances are that your main challenge is the lack of time. It is hard to make that jump, and you need to try and do more in less time. From scheduling your blog posts to making sure that you are able to identify your most popular content and adding call-to-actions to every post, there are several ways you can improve your marketing results.

Combine Fun and Work

It is crucial that you create a lifestyle that allows you to combine work and fun. This means that you might be able to become a lifestyle blogger and create some travel and restaurant review posts.

Creating personal content can help you connect with your audience on a personal level.
After all, you need to build that special relationship with your followers if you want them to trust you and consider your recommendations of products or services.
